Work Experience

There are many different routes which enable people to start a career within the NHS. In NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde we aim to offer a variety of opportunities.  Some will help individuals make career choices by providing an insight into the various roles within our organisation and others will support people to develop knowledge and skills that may assist them into future employment.

 Pre employment Initiatives

Another route into NHS employment, which includes work experience, is via a pre-employment training programme. These programmes are often delivered in partnership with other agencies and are geared towards under- represented groups within our workforce (e.g. young people, care experienced, and disabled). The programmes tend to include a combination of classroom based sessions and work placements which with tutor aim to provide people with the confidence, skills and knowledge to make successful applications for entry level posts within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
