Paternity Leave

This policy recognises that parents, not the primary carer, but fathers, same sex partners and adoptive parents have a need to spend a period of time at home during a period of family extension, such as the birth or adoption of a child.

The policy, allows employees who meet the qualifying criteria, up to a maximum of 2 weeks paternity leave within 8 weeks of the birth or adoption of a child.

Top Tips on using the Paternity Leave policy.....

  1. This entitlement to paternity leave applies to each occasion of a birth i.e. single/twins/triplets - one occasion of paternity leave
  1. This entitlement is for the parent who is not the primary carer. The primary carer will have access to maternity or adoption leave benefits.
